Spiritual Seekers (Maidenhead) had their first meeting 2017 as a closed group of friends that would meet up to discuss the meaning of life in a non-judgemental environment where we were comfortable that no one would ridicule or criticise ideas or concepts that could not be comfortably aired in everyday company.
Many of us had sought spiritual community through the Church, but had found that minds in the Church were even more closed to free examination than even in general society. We therefore chose to create a safe space community for ourselves to propose absolutely any idea and trust that it would be debated respectfully and intelligently. Having experienced the dogmatic certainty of the Church, we were wary of arriving at a definitive answer that was beyond further examination. Our motto became
" Every Question is valid - Every Answer is Incomplete".

The great thing about the pagan calendar is that there is an excuse for the clans to gather every 6 weeks or so and Avebury is one of our favourite sacred sites to visit.

Spiritual Seekers is a format that works for us and our friendship group around Maidenhead.
We look forward to helping other groups establish themselves in other locations.
Shared physical presence is important, so there are limits to the geographical area that any one group can serve, however the resources and methodologies of running a group are easily replicated. Our founders would be delighted to mentor you as you establish your own communities.
If you would like to start an affiliated group for your community please get in touch. info@spiritualseekers.uk
We welcome guest speakers from any tradition, if you are passionate about any subject related to spirituality and would like to lead one of our debates then please get in touch. info@spiritualseekers.uk
Do you know of an inspiring or informative video, book or website that you would like to recommend to others via our links section ? Do let us know and we will check it out and share it with the members info@spiritualseekers.uk
"One thing they reveal clearly is that nones are not straightforwardly secular. Certainly, nones reject religious labels—but they reject secular ones as well." <cut>
"So the growth of ‘no religion’ cannot be conflated with the growth of the secularism championed by the ‘new atheists’. Indeed, atheism has not been growing anything like as fast as ‘no religion’" <cut>
"As to what kind of God they believe in, less than a quarter of the nones who think there is a God adhere to the traditional idea of a personal ‘God’, with the rest believing in a spirit,life-force, energy, or simply ‘something there’."
